I Find My Something Wonderful – You Can Find Yours, Too

I search my monologue memories, look for something wonderful. Here it is. Ghost Fingers. I will find a thirty second or maybe a one minute monologue from this ten minute play. I think back to my precious, invaluable stepping stones to now. Looking back is not easy, but then nothing worthwhile is easy, is it? Do it anyway. I think that if you don’t look back and treasure the things you find, you discard the best learning tools of your life. Treasure your stepping stones and don’t ever let go. Of course, you don’t know that they are valuable at the time; it is just another day. But when, years later, you need guidance, there they are. Stepping stones to now that make you smile. You realize that you are who you are because you remember that day or that friend and you’ve applied it to your life.

Your Novel Is Bogged Down, Near Death – Wake It Up!

Your novel is bogged down, near death. Wake it up! I’ve learned over and over that there is only one way for me to do that. That’s just me. I write plays, short stories and am now writing a novel. Of course your novel is still within you, down there chugging and churning around. You can feel it working its way to fruition! But what can you do? You are stuck. Nothing that comes to your mind can fix it. You think that you will just give it up…give up writing anything! But hold on. You’ve started and you don’t want to give it up. You are a writer. You are not a quitter. You probably had a good idea in the beginning when you decided to write this novel. All you need is a little nudge. Here it is.

The Best Halloween Party Ever

Do you love parties, especially Halloween parties? Now let’s play-like…picture this…the room is dark, except for the few candle-lit lamps scattered here and there in your living room. You have invited people who love ghost stories, especially writers, but there are many other friends. Invite the children and let them know early about the art and the magic of story-telling.

Monologue Lovers’ Dark Secrets

Edgar Allen Poe was no dummy. He knew what we like and that is to be shocked out of our skins. Don’t be afraid. Cross that line. Writers who won’t go outside the box run the risk of being unfulfilled. Actors who don’t like to step outside the box for fear of offending, can be unfulfilled actors. And there aren’t many of those around. Most actors love the absurd, the forbidden. And theatre’s “black comedy”– for some, the ultimate funny monologues, go to forbidden places.

Living International’s Monologue Memories

So you’ve always dreamed of living international and now your chance has come. Your husband has come home excited beyond belief. He has been offered a transfer to that place called “down under.” Australia….AUSTRALIA!!! You tell the children, order in a bucket of chicken because that’s what you do for big celebrations–and make your plans for a new life. The thing is, you don’t really know what you are getting yourselves into. So don’t pack your bags just yet. Let’s talk.
