Dee Cliburn is a Houstonian with East Texas roots. Her formative childhood years were spent in the oil boom town of Pistol Hill, Texas. Later married to an oilman, they followed the oil from Houston to Oklahoma to the bayou country of Louisiana, to Melbourne, Australia, then to the jewel of Southeast Asia, the island city of Singapore where they lived for five years. She brings these experiences and its people to her “Play-Like People” and hopes you find a monologue that is right for you for your auditions or performance pieces. Her monologue previews are available online.
Dee is a published fiction writer. She is a produced playwright and has been on the boards of Theatre Southwest and Scriptwriters/Houston and was the 2007 president of Scriptwriters/Houston. This year she produced Theatre Southwest’s 4th annual Reader’s Theatre. She is a member of The Dramatist Guild of America.
