A Thirty-Second Male Monologue
by Dee Cliburn
(Enters slowly, his voice strong yet still seductive)
I am Jaros, from Romania. Tonight I thirst. I look up at the full moon and ask what took it so long? My throat is dry from the thirst. Do you know what it feels like to need that drink? It, only it, can satisfy the thirst that chokes me…no, that drives me to drink the sweet red blood that sustains me. I know she waits for me. She lies awake in her bed, looks up at the full moon, waiting…waiting as I wait and yearn for her blood. Does she thirst, too? No. She just wants me to be happy.
